Teen Tuesday – Listen Up! Free Audiobooks from SYNC!

audiobookTeens! With the last day of school just around the corner and Club Read sign ups beginning on June 1st, why not ease into your summer reading with an unbeatable offer? Free audiobooks are available for download beginning Thursday, May 30 at www.audiobooksync.com.

Twelve young adult titles will be offered along with a thematically corresponding classic. Each pair will be available for one week only and once downloaded, they’re yours to keep and can be listened to at your leisure. Most computer and portable devices support the Overdrive Media Console that you’ll need to install before you begin your audiobook downloads. Instructions and how-to videos are on their website. Beginning June 14, readers of young adult and classical literature will have the chance to download 2 free audiobooks per week until August 22 from Audiobooksync.com.  First up is the young adult title The Eleventh Plague by Jeff Hirsch paired with the classic The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck.  Downloads are available for one week only and once loaded, can be listened to at any time.

Reason #10 to Sign Up for the Summer Reading Program: Reading During the Summer Helps You Succeed in School!

Did you know that kids who read during the summer do better in school than those who do not?  Fortunately for you, our Summer Reading Program (beginning June 1) makes it EASY and FUN for you to read at least 20 minutes a day and win incredible prizes while doing it!

Summer is fast approaching, and so is our AMAZING Summer Reading Program.  Beginning Friday, June 1, babies, toddlers, kids, and teens can sign up in the branch or online and earn prizes!

Babies, toddlers, and preschoolers can participate in our Rubber Ducky Reading Club and earn an adorable rubber ducky and a brand new board book for completing important literacy activities with their parents or caregivers, like sharing a book, singing a song, or saying a nursery rhyme.

Kids in grades K – 5 will have a chance to earn book bucks to buy items from our book store for FREE, a gold medal, and a chance to win a $50 Barnes and Noble gift card in our Dream Big, READ! program.

Teens who sign up for our Own the Night program will be awarded book bucks, a cool magnetic book mark, and a chance to win a Sony Wi-Fi eReader.
