Teen Tuesday – Awards, Awards, Awards!

We are waiting with bated breath for January 28th when the winners of the Youth Media Awards will be announced at the American Library Association’s Midwinter meeting.  Finally, after months of speculation, we’ll learn what books get to wear the shiny stickers that say “Newbery,” “Caldecott,”  “Printz,” and “Morris”—just to name a few.  Follow the awards via the Twitter hashtag #ALAyma or check the Facebook page at facebook.com/alayma where there is even a link to watch the ceremonies live!

The Mystery Writers of America have just released their list of nominees for the Edgar Allan Poe Awards that honor the best in mystery fiction, nonfiction and television for the previous year.  Winners will be announced on May 2, so there’s plenty of time to check out these books and make your own predictions.  For a complete list of all nominees, the MWA website is here.
